These beautiful ragas are selected for their healing effects on tension and physical health disorders. All ragas are played according to their ancient Samaveda notations and are performed by 3 outstanding Indian musicians.
Suajit Das has studied with one of the top classical singers in India and has performed at seminars given by Deepak Chopra and Roy Martina. Sourav Bose comes form a renowned musical family of West-Bengal and started his musical career at the age of five. He performs regularly on All India Radio and has accompanied many well-known musicians. Bipak Sharma is an upcoming flautist from Assam and has had a meteoric rise in the world of classical music. Since 1992 he has been influenced by Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia to deepen his development. The Raga Research Centre in Chennai, India is currently making a comprehensive study of Indian ragas and evaluating their therapeutic potential with the help of musicians, doctors and psychiatrists. It is believed that classical Indian ragas can benefit whole hosts of conditions ranging from insomnia, high and low blood pressure to schizophrenia and epilepsy.

This long playing double CD-set (over 2 hours) is a relaxing and beautiful introduction to Nada Yoga, which is an ancient Indian form of music therapy. Listening to the specific ragas creates an experience of balance, harmony, purification and inner transformation. Included is a guidebook describing the chakra system of the body and how to use these sounds for better health and relaxation.
Includes a chakra guidebook. This two-disc set is a practical and beautiful introduction to the healing sounds of Nada Yoga. This less-familiar branch of yoga uses vibration and sound as a form of devotion and healing. Through the positive vibrations contained in the music on CHAKRA YOGA MEDITATION, listeners can experience a peaceful calm, a sense of healthy balance, and soulful purification. Each of the seven tracks on this recording correlate to the seven major chakras on the body and can be enjoyed individually or as a whole. "Bagisbi, Anja Chakra" corresponds to the base or root chakra and has the low sound and simple rhythms one would expect to illustrate this most basic energy center. The sarangi, an Indian string instrument similar to the guitar, is used predominately in the lower chakra tracks, with an emphasis on creating a healing drone sound. This drone creates the vibration that is said to be the basis of well-being. On this recording, the music becomes progressively faster and the slow drone sound gives way to bells and chimes as the more enlightened Vishudhi and Darbarikanara chakras are explored. This recording is an excellent addition to a meditation practice and wonderful, uplifting music to enjoy anytime of the day.
